Northern Webster County Back to School Splash
Monday evening, July 24 found most of the students and parents from Diana and Hacker Valley at Holly River State Park, the site for the Northern Webster County Back to School Splash. We had a super wonderful evening of swimming, basketball, refreshments, fire truck rides, and school supplies. The Webster County Health Department also had a representative there giving away bags prepared by them. Darkness had fallen by the time the last person left.
Our site increased our participation by approximately 50 students this year. We served about 80% of our student population! One of the nicest things about the Back to School Splash is that it has nothing to do with income guidelines. Everyone is welcome!!!
The volunteer staff of the Northern Webster County Back to School Splash would like to extend a tremendous THANK YOU to our volunteers and sponsors! Our volunteers are too numerous to mention and even if we tried we’d certainly omit someone as virtually everyone in our two communities helped in some way.
We also had a wonderful group of ladies that got together and made drawstring bags using donated fabric to hold the students’ supplies. These bags can also be used throughout the year by the students for various other needs. Thank you very much ladies, we have had numerous comments about how nice these bags are.
We especially want to thank the parents, guardians, grandparents, aunt, uncles, neighbors, and friends for bringing their students! Without your participation, there would be no Back to School Splash.
